Science with Kids (Balloon Fun)

My girls LOVE to do SCIENCE EXPERIMENTS and they LOVE playing with BALLOONS so when I found this BALLOON EXPERIMENT Blowing up a Balloon with a Bottle- science for kids over through Pinterest I knew I had to do this experiment with my girls. Just like I thought they LOVED it. Before we started I asked them what do they think will happen to the balloon if we did this experiment, Ari said the balloon will blow up and Bri said the balloon will pop.

What you will need for this EXPERIMENT is a empty water bottle, funnel, vinegar, baking soda, and a balloon.

With the funnel let your child pour vinegar into the empty water bottle just about a 1/4 of the bottle full.

Then attach the balloon to bottom of the funnel and hold the balloon in place while your child adds 2-3 table spoon of baking soda into the funnel. Ari was being a big helper to her sister.

Shake the funnel so that all the baking soda falls into the balloon.

While pinching the balloon so the no baking soda falls out attached the balloon to the water bottle.

Make sure your child hold the balloon end over the water bottle and let them dump the baking soda into the bottle.

Make sure the kids still hold onto the bottom of the balloon while it is blowing up. The chemical reaction of the vinegar and the baking soda blows up the balloon.

Bri was scared that her balloon was going to pop so she was backing away. LOL

They LOVED blowing up their balloons this way and had so much fun with it! They are always asking me to blow up balloons for them to play with so this was a great way to add some science learning to a fun activity. Ari was right in her prediction that the balloon will blow up. Bri thought the balloon would pop and that is why she backed away from it but she learn that actually the balloon did pop.

Hope this post will give you some fun ideas to do with your kiddos and don't forget to like and pin this post.
Also leave me a comment of some of your favorite SCIENCE ACTIVITIES that you like to do with your kiddos.
